About

Supporting your path from where you’ve been to where you’re going.

Nicole is a compassionate and goal-driven clinician dedicated to fostering growth and celebrating positive change in the lives of her clients. She brings a deep passion for mental health to her work and is committed to making a meaningful difference. Nicole strives to create a safe, welcoming environment where individuals feel comfortable discussing difficult topics. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, trust, and empowerment while focusing on achievable, positive outcomes. Nicole earned her Bachelor of Science in Health, Leisure, and Sports Studies from the University of Iowa, where she also became a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. She spent several years working as a Recreational Therapist before deciding to expand her scope of practice. Driven by a desire to deepen her impact, she returned to the University of Iowa to complete her Master’s in Social Work—firmly believing, “Once a Hawk, ALWAYS a Hawk.” She is now a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in the state of Iowa. Nicole has extensive experience providing mental health services across a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient hospitals, schools, and community-based programs. She has supported individuals of all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults, facing a range of challenges such as depression, anxiety, autism, behavioral concerns, ADHD, trauma, abuse, and low self-esteem. Her primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on reshaping thought patterns to improve behaviors and overall well-being. Nicole is a strong advocate for her clients and is passionate about building a therapeutic relationship that promotes safety, honesty, and personal growth. Nicole works with clients ages 4 and up. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, playing with her dogs Nala and Simba, and embracing humor—often at her own expense. 😊
